Random weekend

It was a weekend filled with fabulous food

and company,

interesting gifts, and hard work.

Knitting to return just as soon as I get these stairs primed and the contents of my KSKS bag organized. (I promise - leaf lace sock #1 is rapidly approaching the toe shaping) Needless to say, Flirty Ruffles has not been blocked yet. Maybe I can distract you with shiny new buttons from Button, Button?

Hey, the stairs don't look too bad underneath. Yay!

I have to say, I love blue and white dishes... any food looks yummier in a white and blue dish... do I actually HAVE any blue and white dishes? Um, no...

Is that Holly? Did you go for Thai green curry? (green with envy)

Now I'm inspired to rip the carpet of Pete's stairs, but then I would have 7 layers of *glossy brown* paint to deal with.

Thank you for the kind words on my shawl over at Lisa's, and yours are gorgeous! Good luck with the house and the moving. I remember trying to describe the ranch house we'd just bought in California to our then-four-year-old, whom we'd left in NH with friends during the househunting trip, and she just couldn't wrap her mind around it: if it didn't have stairs, then how could you go upstairs?

That soup looks fantastic - is it Thai?
We're just starting to rip the carpeting off our stairs, but they're bare pine underneath. I see sanding, staining and lots of dust in my future!

The stairs are gorgeous - are you going to leave them wood or recarpet? (My vote: paint 'em and enjoy the wood. We need more wood visible in houses.)
