Knock, Knock

Who's There?

Justin.

Justin who?

Just in the neighbourhood and thought I'd say Hello.

What have I been up to? The tiniest bit of knitting, spinning and cooking is happening.

There was an Easter egg hunt.

The Easter bunny brought me a lovely cold. That cold looks pretty cute when it's 10,000 times bigger than life and fuzzy. When you've got 10,000 of the bugs and they are itty bitty and causing you to sneeze incessantly, it's not very cute.

There's been A Lot of work. Here's my skein of Blue-Faced Leicester dyed by my wonderful friend Kerry enjoying the view from my temporary office.

I've also been doing a lot of cutting and winding. Work to finish what was started in March.

Here we are at the finish with our bags of bobbins waiting for us. Many thanks to Leah and Gail B. (sadly blogless) for organizing and their many, many hours of work.

How have I been staying fueled and sane throughout this? Well, I've got my little ceramic friends acting as representative scale and lots of delicious Pink and Green (Hello Project Spectrum) growing in my garden.

It's truly delicious when combined with these. Once I perfect my strawberry-rhubarb crisp recipe, I will post it.

Pink, Yellow & Green? Uh oh.

I have a well documented problem when it comes to embracing certain parts of the colour spectrum. I could have gone a full year in blue/white/grey (retrospective is coming).

For the next 2 months, I am going to try to find and use as much pink, yellow and green as possible in my stash.

On the list right now, the baby pink bonnet and bootees for my niece (Dale Book 142),

socks and very bright, cheerful roving.

Any words of advice on spinning the roving? It was sold as one length of green and one length of pink/yellow multi braided together. I'm afraid that when I ply them together I will end up with a mess.

The week ahead.

Monday : Lamb Korma and Spinach Paneer
I have ben searching for a good Spinach Panner recipe for what seems like forever, maybe you have a favorite?
Tuesday : Leftovers for the Flame and Guild Meeting for myself.
Wednesday : Braised Lamb Shoulder Chops with Kale and Cannellini Beans
Thursday : Italian Meat Sauce
Friday : Garlic-Fried Vegetables and Rice
Weekend : Roast Chicken!

Both the Lamb Korma and the Italian Meat Sauce are from this book. My main complaint is that some of the recipes call for a 1 1/2 quart slow cooker and that size just seems impractical to me. 3 quarts is just right for two people, a turkey drumstick, or a small roast. 1 1/2 quarts? I just think dip and crackers.

Don't worry, I will be getting the gnomes back but they were excellent helpers in our April Fool's Day joke. The Flame's mum wants to keep them a problem which will be resolved by getting her some gnomes of her own.
