Gotland, pie, sock start.

Unwashed lock, washed lock, piano wire skein, skein that could have used a little more plying twist. These are all from the spinning class I took last week up at the Gibsons Landing Fibre Festival.

I'm trying to make spinach pie for dinner in a kitchen that looks like this.

Nice colour on the walls though, eh?

When I get a break, I'm relaxing with my socks, but I've only managed to get this far into #2.

The Flame and I are scooting South for a quick jaunt into another world, maybe I'll get some knitting done during the car ride?

Random weekend

It was a weekend filled with fabulous food

and company,

interesting gifts, and hard work.

Knitting to return just as soon as I get these stairs primed and the contents of my KSKS bag organized. (I promise - leaf lace sock #1 is rapidly approaching the toe shaping) Needless to say, Flirty Ruffles has not been blocked yet. Maybe I can distract you with shiny new buttons from Button, Button?

A sigh of relief.

I can't believe it's been over a month since I've finished a project.

Flirty Ruffles still needs to be blocked and that will probably be a weekend project.

Project specs : Flirty Ruffles Shawl by Fiddlesticks Knitting

Yarn : Jaggerspun Zephyr in Black

Needles : 3.25mm addis

Started : sometime during summer 2005, abandoned until about mid-June 2006
Finished : August 1, 2006

The body of the shawl became fairly meditative, but the ruffle was a killer. Definitely good travel knitting as it went on, and on, and on. In retrospect, I should have tried a couple of different increase methods for the ruffle. I picked up and twisted the yarn on either side of the center stitch which made for very tidy increases but slow-going.
